My vote is for this and i like the draft of S.D. Fornwalts
"1. Full goggles/face mask or glasses that provide a seal all the way around.
2. FPS- 450 idea, as most of your new aeg/gbb are 400+ heavy guns and sniper's allowed more based on rules.
3. No restrictions on gram of bb's weight as long as weapon crono's in near FPS limits.
4. No surrender rules to eliminate conflicts.
5. Bang Bang rule set at 25 ft.
6. Hi-caps used only when allowed by event rules."
my vote
1. Close fit glasses, goggles/face mask full seal.
2. 400 FPS MED 25ft AEG/ CQB 350 FPS AEG ONLY/ 450/500 FPS Sniper and Heavy Guns MED 50ft
3. BB's (you shot with what you crono on, once out of that ammo you CAN NOT change ammo.)
4. Bang bang/surrender under 25ft
5. mag cap set by the event host
6. must have dead rag (red)
7. PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK
my vote
1. FPS no greater than 450
2. No surrender rule
3. Bang rule at 20 ft
4. Mag caps set by the event host
5. No bb restirctions
6. Richochets don't count as hits
My vote is that we adapt the other rules sets to wyoming airsoft with the following things to be changed and or included.

2. FPS- 450 idea, as most of your new aeg/gbb are 400+ heavy guns and sniper's allowed more based on rules. CQB (or indoor) should be limited to 350 FPS. This should be with any ammo weight that a player wants BUT they must maintain that weight all day or re-chrony after any ammo change.
3. No restrictions on gram of bb's weight as long as weapon crono's in near FPS range. I like this, HOWEVER, We need to define "near". I am recommending +/- 1% Which at 450FPS would equal about 4.5 FPS. So if you are using an AEG that is supposed to be at 450 FPS, You have an overage leeway of 4.5 FPS. Any indoor event that you are supposed to maintain 350 FPS, You have an overage leeway of 3.5 FPS.
4. I believe in surrender rules as any event dictates. It is up to the players/host to set surrender rules for each event.
5. Bang Bang rule set at 20 ft in outdoor play and as low as 10 feet in indoor.
6. Hi-caps used only when allowed by event rules.
7. Ricochets don't count as hits."
My last part, If events are to chrony all guns, Who will provide the chrony (chronograph)? They can be had for 80-90$ but I am not very interested in supplying my own. This requirement should be clearly defined. If that is the requirement of hosting events I can see people just not hosting events any more.
The one thing i see having a problem is that when some is crono their gun at 400 fps using .28g if they switch to a .20 their fps will be off the charts.
This is a good rendition of what these rules should be. This is a start to a rule set... further details will have to hammered out and voted on.

The reasoning behind the 450 idea is most stock guns you buy now days come out at 400+...most of them around 430-450. If you set the limit at 400, you are going to rule out a lot of players. The idea is to promote airsoft... not prevent people from participating unless they possess an older weapon that meets the criteria of 350\400. The bb weights should be variable... however what you chrono with you play with. Every player would have to be willing to be re-chronoed if there was an issue to prevent changing ammo to obtain faster trajectories.
My vote is of course, option 3...make our own rule set. The other two main sets we have found... are so restricted that myself and most of my team are "no go" due to the fps restrictions. Furthermore, adapting these weapons to fire below the stock settings is near impossible... and costly.
We are Wyoming... we have a mindset all our own. We should express ourselves in true Wyoming fashion. We are not followers, we are leaders. Simply adapting a standard set of rules for convienence is not our style, and we should keep it that way. Drawing from other resources is a good idea, but let's not let other rule sets influence us into making these rules so intense that some people are left out. From what I've seen so far, it looks like we can come to an easy agreement and make a set of rules that will benefit all of us and keep us all safe.
450FPS max for assult rifles,
Snipers may be over but only in simi or bolt action.
Bang bang rule only works if you catch them by surprise.... otherwise thats what pistols/ other lower power sidearms are for.
IE 290 fps MP7.....
Meh on the goggles, you need eye protection yes, but for full goggles not so much so. They have to sit close to the face and be "bullet proof."
My beliefs is that you understand the risks, and since your running around the wilderness you doubly understand the risks. Dress appropriately....
Also with the whole bbs thing... I vote no on the any weight bbs as long as they are cronoed at 450 or what ever, because i sure as heck dont want someone running steel .90g bbs at 450 in a fully auto with a 10V lithium, and 300 rounds per minute coming down on me.... Or same thing with a sniper running 600 with taht, your coming close to the lower end of a .22 there....
Just to add a comment- I think anyone found using a steel bb's or anything other than the traditional plastic is looking to really hurt someone and that is not what Wyoming Airsoft is all about and those person's "MIGHT" find themselves on the receiving end of somehing flying alot faster than 450 fps and maybe made of some sort of jacketed lead. "GOT SIG" I do not mean to say anything about anyone by that however someone who is just looking to hurt people may find that getting hurt themselves was the end result. There are alot of good idea's here and I think it is appearing like we do need to draft our own set of rules, just what I see. I think Bob Fornwalt is right 100% Thanks- D'man
Hello again. To expound on the excerpt concerning bb weights...of course there will have to be limits. But limiting to a .20 gram bb is taking alot of players out. I would suggest no larger than .28 or .36 on aeg\gbb autos, a little largter for bolt action snipers, and DEFINETLY NO ALUMINUM BB'S!!!!! Plastic only PERIOD! The issue comes down to Joules... the bigger the bb the more impact energy it will have, and the more accurate it will be. Surely a rule can be made to cover all of the bases, and still let everyone participate SAFELY! I for one would be EXTREMELY upset if a person was caught using metal ammo... if I caught anyone shooting at me with them after rules specifically forbid their use, the only thing that would beat them to the hospital is the headlights of the ambulance they were riding on!
Please don't get me wrong... I'm not a violent person, and I'm no wimp either. But everyone on my team, (and I hope I am speaking for a lot more folks on this site), want to play safely and have a good time. Metal bb's are just dangerous and should be banned. This is why we are making these rules... to set parameters that will be followed by all participants during sanctioned events. Hopefully we can all come together and agree on a set of fair rules that will be followed and accepted.
